Carpets add colour and warmth to our homes, unfortunately they are able to VOC’s, what on earth is VOC’s ? This stands for volatile organic compounds, dirt, dust, sand, skin and even household chemicals can be found in the carpet and rug fibres. These ingredients become a hazardous part of the household dust, which can easily become inhaled or ingested, especially by children who will often spend a large amount of time playing on carpeted surfaces. Many years ago, studies revealed that carpets should be removed in favour of hard floor surface, many people did exactly that. More recent scientific results have shown the opposite is true. Common sense also suggest this, think of the room you enter first in the morning, with hard floors, allergens, dust and fluff would finally settle on the floor surface, as soon as the room is entered dust is immediately back in the atmosphere and into our lungs. Your trusty carpet or rug with hold these particles, carpets and rugs that are well maintained (with regular vacuuming and periodic cleaning) will help to improve your indoor air quality.
People often ask how often a carpet or rug should be cleaned, this can differ depending on the use, but between a year and eighteen months would be a sensible suggestion.
With our process, carpet and rug fibres feel soft and fresh after cleaning, with no residues. Carpets are returned close to original condition as possible.
How we work ~
Firstly, we thoroughly vacuum carpets and rugs that are to be cleaned, using a SEBO BS36 cleaner, this process is sometimes overlooked, which is as big mistake. Dirt and dust turn into mud when moisture is introduced, ‘it all goes into the machine’ answer from operators is not good enough.
Solution application now takes place, the fibres a sprayed with our safe solutions, after this we use a contra rotating brush machine. Brushing in our solutions and often brushing our fluff and hair that can not be removed by vacuuming.
The next process is to treat individual staining, sometimes using specific stain treatments, for example rust or grease.
After this, extraction takes place. We use a Hydramaster van mounted system, or if access is a problem we can use the latest powerful portable equipment. Suspended soils and spills are recovered into our equipment, leaving carpets clean with no artificial odour.
Carpet grooming then takes place, this re-sets the pile and helps with drying times.
Not all carpet cleaners are the same !
